Embrace the Ordinary vol. 23

embrace the ordinarybuttonWelcome to the weekend. I hope yours will allow you some rest, even though here we are in the last weekend before Christmas, already! I know I have groceries to buy, gifts to wrap, goodies to bake. The kids will hopefully pop in and help with baking. I know they will want to decorate gingerbread cookies when they have baked and cooled!

This past week was busy, but good. We finished a last-minute project, painting and mailing flags to the penguin research team in Antarctica, to be flown for a day and then mailed back.

After the trip to the post office with flags in hand, we enjoyed some holiday drinks at Starbucks. Why not? This week was our first week off for the holidays, and not having lessons is a good reason for a treat. Besides, everyone maintained such a remarkable level of normal behavior for the 30 minutes we waited in line at the post office. I am not ashamed to reward my children.

What else this week? Hustle and bustle of holiday prep. Cleaning. Putting up the tree. Movies. Hot cocoa. Gingerbread cookies. Mailing cards. Menu planning. Coffee. Tea. Laundry. Hugs. Stories. Kisses. Cookies. Mass. Love.
