ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Gina!

One day I read a quote that changed my prayer life. I was a young mama with four littles under the age of 7, chasing half-clothed potty training toddlers around the house, stepping on crumbs, and frantically trying to clean marker off walls.

Exhausted, I wondered when there would ever be quiet alone time to pray (or even shower) in peace.

Then I met Saint Francis of Rome, who is quoted with: “a married woman must, when called upon, quit her devotions to God at the altar to find Him in her household affairs.” mic.drop.

I figure God led me to this married vocation and blessed my husband and I with (now) 6 children, so He certainly knows what my days are like. Why not pray through it, and offer it all back to Him, for His glory?

Daily prayer is a must

Daily prayer is a must-have. Staying (mostly) on-top of our vocational duties (like dishes and laundry) takes a good bit of time. Both are possible.

Saint Josemaria Escriva said that great holiness consists in carrying out the little duties of each moment.

We need prayer in combination with our duties. Otherwise, we risk merely checking the boxes of too-long, color-coded to-do lists.

My hope with Someday Saints is to show you it is possible to pray every day, to offer literally everything, even “Jesus take the wheel” moments back to the Lord.

I want to encourage you to pursue holiness, especially in the unique life you lead within your home. Here and now is where (and when) we become holy (and someday, saints).

Gina
