Calling Catholic Moms: Easy + Beautiful Plans for Lent

| | |

Rolling into February 2021 (you know that starts next week) like “What? How did we get here already?” . . .

And there’s Valentine’s Day. (who wants to spend $$$ on superhero valentines from the store? not I).

And Lent.

And even though we toughed it out through a shut-down pandemic Lent last year, if you’re like me, you’re wishing you didn’t have to do it again. But here we are. So what’s the plan?

Make it great. Live it well. Make this life BEAUTIFUL and holy, right here and now.

Make it easy

Take the stress out of living liturgically by prepping now. Three weeks in advance is not a bad idea. I know, Lent feels like a far-off season, but it’s not that far away.

So let’s do it. Let’s make it easy, even easier than a curbside grocery order. Check out these printable resources from other Catholic moms:

  • darling Catholic Valentines from Catholic Paper Goods (give them to your new homeschool buddies)
  • for my kindergartner: penmanship practice with “Color and Trace Sheets and Valentines” from The Washington Homestead
  • “Holy Week Prayer Journal and Paschal Candle” by To Jesus, Sincerely, so I can finish Lent strong (because by the Holy Week, I’ve run out steam and need a mini-retreat)

Make it Beautiful

Lent can be beautiful. There are beautiful printables (hint: my Gospel of John bundle set is included!) and tutorials for liturgical decor. I’m looking at that Pascal candle idea in particular.

And there’s this adorable lemon embroidery pattern “Offer It Up Embroidery Pattern” from Happy Nest Home Goods, because I’m about to start some new hobbies and girls-time with my teens (we can learn together!)

(note, the bundle is no longer available, but the items often are still available to purchase from the above small businesses!)
